Mark Heffner Delivers Session on Rhode Island Medicaid
Mark Heffner recently gave a continuing legal education session on Medicaid through the Rhode Island Bar Association, along with Jacqueline Kelley of the Office of Health and Human Services.
In the October 16th session, Medicaid 202 – Beyond the Basics, Mr. Heffner advised attorneys on how to best counsel clients seeking or having previously secured eligibility for long term care through the Rhode Island Medical Assistance (Medicaid) program. Topics included recent changes to Rhode Island estate laws, the pros and cons of using enhanced life estate deeds, and the “caregiver child” exception to the transfer of assets rule.
